Legacy control panel and email accounts - good reasons to remove them
___________________________________________________________________________________________
Good house keeping of your online accounts will help keep your systems secure.  This can include, but not limited to, removing legacy control panel accounts, mailboxes, or database users.  Retaining old accounts can mean in the long term all your services become compromised.

Like Microsoft learned being hacked this year using one of its retained legacy test accounts:

Securing your computing time

Staying secure online is becoming much harder, even for those who are more experienced.

Conversely its becoming easier for fraudsters, unfortunately.  This is especially highlighted by a recent slip by a financial worker who transferred $25M to a fraudster:

Yet, I think we have all heard it from others:
I will NOT fall for that scam!

Also, someone said to me:  you can not spend all your time worrying about security!

But securing your computing time has NOTHING to do with worrying, but everything to do with protecting yourself long term online.

You can help protect yourself by doing these two simple things:

 - 1. Passwords - improve: length & complexity
 - 2. Browser - use two!?

1. Passwords:
Change it.  Maybe you think yours is good enough already and maybe it is, but today it needs to be at least 12 mixed alphanumeric characters long (this should/can contain upper/lower case letters, numbers, dots, commas, brackets, colons, or any other general keyboard characters to add complexity).

2. Browsers:
Only use browser A for known secure sites (Banks, etc), and browser B for other trash sites (social media sites, etc); fail to divide this and your browsing will become compromised eventually.

Hackers, both manual and automatic (but more often automated bots) are using ever more evolving convincing tactics, take care.

Vehicle technology, now OVER teched and over complicated

Jag out of control is stopped by police cars - sandwiched - read more:

The complicated mix of technology going into vehicles today is unnecessary and will increasingly result in cascades of errors causing software failures as shown here.
